Needs of a Patient with an Eating Disorder

Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to identify and to describe, by means of a casuistic method, needs of a patient with an eating disorder. Furthermore, to subjectively evaluate, quality of patient´s life with eating disorder, which are signified by abnormal eating customs, for example an anorexia nervosa, a bulimia nervosa, a binge eating and other, less frequent disorders. Methodology: The bachelor thesis is divided to two parts - theoretical part and practical part. The content of eating disorders in theoretical part is described in kinds, types, symptoms, therapy, consequences, and nursing care. Then, in theoretical part, needs of a patient are defined and described in eating disorders. Practical part is a casuistry by itself, in which is characteristics of the case, an anamnesis, a katamnesis and an analysis. Dates are collected by non-standardized form of interview with the patient. Results: Result of the bachelor thesis is casuistry recorded longer than 5 years of a patient with two eating disorders. During different phases of disorder, the health state is changing with needs of the patient. At the beginning, the patient describes satisfaction of basic needs thanks to medical stuff, later patient can satisfy his needs by help from family. Patient shares influence of quality of his life. Conclusion: Thesis is specialized on often eating disorders, mainly anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Planning and provision of specific needs in patient with these disorders are described in thesis.

Abstract:

Cieľ: Cieľom mojej bakalárskej práce je metódou kazuistiky zistiť a popísať potreby pacienta s poruchou príjmu potravy na psychiatrickom oddelení. Ďalej zistiť subjektívne hodnotenie kvality života pacienta s poruchou príjmu potravy, ktoré sa prejavujú abnormálnymi stravovacími návykmi ako napríklad mentálna anorexia, bulímia, záchvatové prejedanie sa a ďalšie, menej časté ochorenia. Metodika: Práca je rozdelená na dve časti - teoretická časť a praktická časť. V teoretickej časti je popísaná podstata porúch príjmu potravy ako sú druhy, typy, príznaky, terapia, následky a ošetrovateľská starostlivosť. Ďalej v teoretickej časti sú definované potreby človeka a popísané potreby človeka u PPP. V praktickej časti je samotná kazuistika pacienta, v ktorej je charakteristika prípadu, anamnéza, katamnéza a analýza. Dáta sú zbierané neštandardizovanou formou rozhovoru s pacientom. Výsledky: Výsledkom bakalárskej práce je kazuistika zaznamenávaná dlhšie než 5 rokov pacientky s onemocnením dvoch porúch príjmu potravy. V rôznych fázach ochorenia sa mení zdravotný stav pacienta a s tým aj jeho potreby. Nazačiatku pacient popisuje naplňovanie základných potrieb vďaka zdravotníckemu personálu, no neskôr je schopný s pomocou rodiny uspokojovať svoje potreby. Pacient zdieľa ovplyvnenie kvality jeho života. Záver: Práca je zameraná na časté ochorenie poruchy príjmu potravy, hlavne anorexia nervosa a bulímia nervosa. Plánovanie a zabezpečenie špecifickej potreby u pacientov s týmto ochorením je popísané v práci.
