Assessing the needs of a primary school in the field of inclusive educational policy

Abstract:

The submitted thesis discusses the meaning of inclusion as a principle within Czech educational system and examines the given conditions. The theoretical part deals with the main conceptual as well as practical aspects of inclusive education in the Czech Republic by focusing on its impact on the current state and functioning of the educational system within the context of social inclusion. The empirical-analytical part then applies the theory at the level of a primary school, where it uses the form of a case study to assess the needs of a concrete educational institution in the field of inclusive educational policy. The aim is to answer the main research question: What are the needs of the primary school in the field of inclusive policy? To identify the needs of the primary school an „Index for inclusion“ is being used, while its application in the process of prioritizing its further development is a part of the research itself. The final part of the study formulates some general recommendations to the school’s identified needs in the field of inclusive educational policy.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá významom a podmienkami inklúzie v českom vzdelávacom systéme. Teoretická časť práce sa venuje rozpracovaniu hlavných východísk inkluzívneho vzdelávania v ČR a to konceptuálne i prakticky prostredníctvom orientácie na dôležité dopady súčasného fungovania českého vzdelávacieho systému v kontexte problematiky sociálneho začleňovania. Empiricko-analytická časť následne aplikuje uvedené poznatky na úroveň základnej školy a formou prípadovej štúdie sa venuje analýze potrieb konkrétnej vzdelávacej inštitúcie v oblasti inkluzívnej vzdelávacej politiky. Smeruje k zodpovedaniu hlavnej výskumnej otázky, ktorá znie: Aké sú potreby vybranej základnej školy v oblasti inkluzívnej politiky? K identifikácii potrieb základnej školy slúži materiál s názvom „Ukazateľ inklúzie“, ktorého aplikácia a overenie v procese stanovovania priorít ďalšieho rozvoja základnej školy je súčasťou výskumnej časti práce. V závere sú potom k jednotlivým oblastiam identifikovaných potrieb školy čoby prioritám pre jej ďalší rozvoj v oblasti inkluzívnej politiky formulované odporúčania formou obecných tém, na ktorých má škola možnosť ďalej pracovať.
