The Use of Digital Technologies in English Language Education from the perspective of Teachers

Abstract:

Tato Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na téma „využití digitálních technologií ve výuce anglic-kého jazyka očima učitelů“. V teoretické části rozděluje do 3 hlavních kapitol. V první kapi-tole se práce zabývá vymezením pojmu digitální technologie ve vzdělávání, kde jsou defino-vány hlavní pojmy spojené s problematikou. Druhá kapitola se zabývá výukou anglického jazyka, kde je představen současný koncept výuky jazyků ČR a pojem „angličtina jako cizí jazyk“. V poslední kapitole teoretické části se práce zabývá využitím digitálních technologií ve výuce angličtiny, kde věnuje důraz na rozvoj jednotlivých jazykových dovedností za po-moci digitálních technologií. Empirická část se popisuje metodologii výzkumu a interpretací výsledků, které byly zjištěny na základě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Jedním z hlavních zjištění práce je, že učitelé angličtiny pohlíží na problematiku digitálních technologií pozitiv-ně. Další zjištění se týká využití digitálních technologií v souvislosti s rozvoje specifických řečových dovedností.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic “The use of digital technologies in the English lan-guage education from the perspective of teachers”. Its theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. In the first chapter, the thesis defines the concept of digital technologies in education, where the main concepts connected with the problematics are defined. The second chapter deals with language teaching where the current concept of language education in the Czech Republic and the term English as a foreign language are introduced. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the use of digital technologies in English education, where it focuses on the development of specific language skills with the use of digital technologies. The empirical part describes the methodology of the research and the interpretation of results, which were conducted through semi-structured interviews. One of the main findings is, that English teachers ‘perspective on the ice of digital technologies is positive. Another finding revolves around the use of digital technology in relation to language skills.
