Analysis of motivation of personal assistants for working with people with mental impairment

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou motivace osobních asistentů pro práci s lidmi s mentálním postižením. V teoretické části jsou definovány klíčové pojmy práce, kterými je mentální postižení a charakteristika osob s mentálním postižením, dále sociální služby, které mohou tyto osoby využívat s detailním zaměřením na službu osobní asistence. Závěr teoretické části je věnován pojmu motivace. Výzkum byl realizován využitím kvalitativní výzkumné strategie, data sesbírána skrze pět polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s osobními asistentkami, které byly podrobeny doslovné transkripci a kódovány. V interpretační části práce je analyzována motivace respondentek, která je přivedla k rozhodnutí začít pracovat jako osobní asistent, vývoj jejich motivace do současnosti, a dále náměty na faktory, kterými se domnívají, že by měli být budoucí osobní asistenti motivováni, společně s návrhy na zlepšení a změny, které by nadále motivovaly i respondentky samotné. Výsledná zjištění jsou zahrnuta v dílčím závěru výzkumného šetření a doporučení pro speciálně pedagogickou praxi. V závěru celé práce je prezentována odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a naplnění cíle.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the analysis of motivation of personal assistants for working with people with mental impairment. In a theoretical part there are defined key concepts, which are mental impairment and characteristic of people with mental impairment, as well as social services, which this people can use, and with detailed focus on personal assistance. Ending of the theoretical part is devoted to the term of motivation. The research was conducted using qualitative research strategy, data were collected through five halph-structured interviews with personal asisstants, which were transcribed and decoded. In the interpretative par of thesis there is analyzed the motivation of respondents, which get them to decision of working as personal assistant, progress their motivaton up to the present and next suggestions for that, with what should be personal assistant motivated, toghether with suggestions for improving a changes, which would motivated respondents too. Resulting detections are inculede in partly conslusion of research and recommandation for practise of special pedagogy. In coclusion of hole thesis there are presented answers on main research question and achieve goal of thesis.
