Coping with conflict situations police officers Czech Republic

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce se zabývá podmínkami, za jakých dochází ke konfliktním situacím u policistů a reakcí policistů na tyto konflikty, tedy způsobem jejich řešení. Popsali jsme pojem konflikt, i mechanismy policie, které konflikt řeší jak preventivně (Community Policing), tak represivně (struktura policie ČR, právní normy). Jako nástroje výzkumu jsme zvolili dva dotazníky. Každý z těchto nástrojů byl vytvořen nezávisle. Dotazník 1 (zvládání stresových situací) byl použit ve spolupráci s Charles S. Carverem (spoluautorem dotazníku), profesorem psychologie na univerzitě v Miami. Dotazník 2 (řešení konfliktních situací a okolností útoků) byl použit v rámci právě probíhajícího mezinárodního projektu Composite. K vyhodnocení prvního dotazníku jsme zvolili popisnou statistickou metodu. Odpovědi na otevřené otázky jsou zde znázorněny pomocí tabulek (nejčastější odpovědi dotazovaných), uzavřené otázky pomocí grafů představujících jednotlivé škály dle odpovědí dotazovaných. Druhý dotazník je zpracován pomocí statistických testů normality. Data jsou prezentována pomocí krabicových grafů, analýzy rozptylu, nebo pomocí Tukeyuva HSD testu. Vzhledem k faktu, že všechny výše uvedené hodnotící metody zobrazovaly nezávisle na sobě, vzájemně se potvrzující, na sebe navazující a prakticky totožné stavy, konkrétní reality, považujeme tyto metody za objektivní diagnostický nástroj.

Abstract:

Thesis deals with the conditions under which there is a conflict situations with police officers and police responses to these conflicts , the way to solve them. We have described the concept of conflict , and mechanisms of the police, which resolves the conflict as a precaution (community policing ) and repressive ( Police structure , legal standards) . As a research tool, we chose two questionnaires. Each of these tools has been created independently. Questionnaire 1 (coping with stressful situations) was used in collaboration with Charles S. Carver (co-author of the questionnaire), professor of psychology at the University of Miami. Questionnaire 2 (conflict situations and circumstances of the attack) was used as part of an ongoing international project Composite. The evaluation of the first questionnaire, we chose a descriptive statistical method. Responses to open-ended questions are illustrated by tables (the most common answers of respondents), closed questions with graphs representing individual scale, according to the answers of the respondents. The second questionnaire is processed using statistical tests of normality. Data are presented using box plots, ANOVA, or using a Tukey HSD test. Due to the fact that all of the above assessment methods appear independently of each other, mutually confirming consecutive and virtually identical conditions, concrete reality , consider these methods for objective diagnostic tool.
