Analysis of profit-making enterprise

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá finanční stav podniku Lidl s důrazem na zisk jakožto výsledku hospodaření. Cílem práce je provést finanční analýzu, identifikovat silné a slabé stránky, potenciální rizika podniku a faktory ovlivňující výši zisku a v případě jeho nepříznivého vývoje navrhnout doporučení na zlepšení. Teoretická část práce je orientována na vymezení hlavních pojmů a metod používaných v oblasti finanční analýzy a využití zisku. Praktická část začíná představením společnosti Lidl v.o.s. a pomocí sekundárních zdrojů zhodnocení momentální situace na maloobchodním trhu a české ekonomice. Následuje finanční analýza prostřednictvím jejich metod vše za komparace s přímými konkurenty sledovaného podniku. Poté je pozornost věnovaná analýze výsledku hospodaření, jeho využití a faktorům determinujícím jeho výšku. Zjištěné skutečnosti jsou sumarizované ve SW matici. Na základě závěrů z SW analýzy je popsána situace podniku a navržena doporučení na zlepšení jeho stavu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis examines the financial situation of Lidl with an emphasis on profit as an economic result. The aim of the thesis is to perform a financial analysis, to identify the strengths and weaknesses, the potential risks of the company and the factors influencing the level of profits, and in the case of its unfavourable development to suggest recommendations for improvement. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on defining the main concepts and methods used in the field of financial analysis and profit utilization. The practical part starts with the introduction of Lidl v.o.s. and using secondary sources to assess the current situation in the retail market and the Czech economy. Financial analysis follows through their methods all for comparison with the direct competitors of the monitored company. Then, attention is paid to the analysis of the economic result, its use and the factors determining its height. The findings are summarized in a SW matrix. Based on the conclusions of the SW analysis, the situation of the company is described and suggested recommendations for improvement of its condition.
