Implementation of automated testing in a financial institution

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá robotickou automatizací procesů. Cílem práce je vyvinout a implementovat proces automatizovaného testování ve vybrané společnosti. S pomocí automatizovaného testování by společnost chtěla dosáhnout snížení doby testování, uvolnění lidských zdrojů pro jiné aktivity a snížení nákladů na manuální testování. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vysvětlení pojmu testování a RPA. Kapitola o testování se věnuje popisu principů testování, jeho procesu a vysvětlení některých existujících technik a způsobů testování. V kapitole věnované RPA jsou uvedeny výhody a nevýhody RPA, vysvětlena kritéria pro výběr kandidátů k automatizaci a představeni nejvýznamnější dodavatelé RPA řešení. Kapitola o modelech implementace RPA popisuje různé přístupy k implementaci a analyzuje shodné a rozdílné fáze implementace. Praktická část nejprve popisuje současný stav společnosti, do které je plánována implementace, a následně se zabývá samotným vývojem a implementací automatizovaného testování. Poté jsou vyhodnoceny a porovnány náklady vynaložené na automatizované testování s náklady potřebnými pro manuální testování.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on robotic process automation. The goal is to develop and implement an automated testing process in a selected company. Through automated testing, the company aims to reduce testing time, free up human resources for other activities and decrease the costs of manual testing. The theoretical part is focused on explaining the concepts of testing and RPA. The chapter on testing delves into the principles of testing, its process, and explains some existing techniques and methods of testing. The chapter dedicated to RPA discusses the advantages and disadvantages of RPA, explains the criteria for selecting candidates for automation, and introduces the most significant providers of RPA solutions. The chapter on RPA implementation models describes various approaches to implementation and analyzes the common and different phases of implementation. The practical part first describes the current state of the company where the implementation is planned, and then focuses on the development and implementation of automated testing. Subsequently, the costs incurred for automated testing are evaluated and compared with the costs required for manual testing.
