Preschool Teacher´s Role in Promotion of a Child With Chronic Health Conditions

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zvyšujícího se výskytu chronických onemocnění u dětí předškolního věku. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, jaká je role učitele při podpoře dítěte s chronickým onemocněním v mateřské škole. Předmětem teoretické části je vymezení chronického onemocnění, jeho vliv na život, výchovu a vzdělávání dítěte a také poskytování podpory. Problematika byla zkoumána prostřednictvím nestandardizovaného dotazníku v online podobě určeného pro učitele mateřských škol. V praktické části jsme poté pracovali se získanými daty od 91 respondentů. Z výsledků výzkumného šetření vyplynulo, že role učitele může být zkomplikována na základě nedostatečné připravenosti v této oblasti. I přesto však učitelé k problematice přistupují aktivně a jejich nejvýznamnějším partnerem komunikace v rámci vzdělávání dítěte je rodič. Na základě výsledků výzkumu jsme navrhli doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis investigates the issue of the increasing incidence of chronic illnesses in children of preschool age. The main goal of the work is to find out what the role of the teacher is in supporting a child with a chronic illness in kindergarten. The subject of the theoretical part is the definition of a chronic illness, its influence on the child's life, upbringing and education, as well as the provision of support. The issue was investigated through a non-standardized questionnaire in the online form intended for kindergarten teachers. In the practical part, we worked with the data obtained from 91 respondents. The results of the research survey showed that the role of the teacher can be complicated based on insufficient preparation in this area. Even so, teachers approach the issue actively and their most important communication partner in the child's education is the parent. Based on the research results, we proposed practice recommendations.
