This bachelor thesis deals with the genre of satire in the context of late Victorian theatre, namely in the plays The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde and Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá žánrem satiry v kontextu pozdně viktoriánského divadla, jmenovitě v divadelních hrách Jak je důležité míti Filipa od Oscara Wildea a Pygmalion George Bernarda Shawa. Cílem práce je analyzovat funkci satiry v britském divadle na konci 19.
