Requirements on knowledge and acquirements of economist working in the public sector

Abstract:

Práce analyzuje vztah mezi výstupem vzdělávacích procesů a poptávkou na pracovních trzích. Cílem práce je zjistit, nakolik existuje soulad mezi získanými poznatky a dovednostmi absolventů a typickými preferencemi potenciálních zaměstnavatelů - institucí veřejného sektoru a NNO. Studijní obor ESF MU Veřejná ekonomika je rovněž komparován s podobnými programy na jiných fakultách. Výsledkem jsou navržené změny ve struktuře tohoto studijního programu s cílem zvýšit efektivnost výuky.

Abstract:

This thesis analyses a relation between both output of educational processes and labour-market demand. The aim is to find out whether there exists an understanding between acquired knowledge and skills of graduates and typical preferences of potential employers institutions of the public sector and non-profit organizations. A study program of Public Economics is also compared to similar study programs at some other economic faculties. In the end, some changes in the structure of study plan with the aim to improve effectiveness of education at Faculty of economics and administration of Masaryk University are proposed.
