Pre-opening of hotel "U Tří hvězdiček".

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice pre-openingů hotelů a shrnuje poznatky o činnostech, které je nutno v období před otevřením hotelu zabezpečit. Veškeré tyto aktivity jsou zároveň uvedeny i v souvislosti s budoucím provozováním hotelu, tj. s činnostmi prováděnými po zahájení provozu. Práce je členěna do tří základních celků, jimiž jsou části teoreticko-metodologická, analytická a návrhová. V první části je věnována pozornost charakteristice trhu hotelnictví, legislativě a obecnému popisu pre-openingů. V druhé části se pak můžeme seznámit s jednotlivými oblastmi pokrývajícími nejvýznamnější činnosti uskutečňované před zahájením provozu hotelu, které jsme analyzovali. Jedná se především o oblast lidských zdrojů, ubytovacího, stravovacího a technického úseku, oblast marketingu, financí a krizového řízení. V poslední části jsme se pak zaměřili na samotný návrh harmonogramu činností, které je nezbytné zajistit v době pre-openingu každého ubytovacího zařízení, a to včetně zohlednění faktoru času. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo vypracovat materiál, který by charakterizoval a objasnil nejdůležitější činnosti, kroky a postupy vedoucí k úspěšnému zvládnutí pre-openingu hotelu tak, aby se pak hotel mohl úspěšně etablovat na trhu. Snahou bylo shrnout veškeré současné poznatky o této problematice a zpracovat je nejen z hlediska teoretického, ale především praktického, tzn. na příkladu konkrétního ubytovacího zařízení. V práci byly použity nejrůznější vědecké metody, z nichž můžeme jmenovat např. deskripci, komparaci, syntézu, analytické metody (analýza SWOT, benchmarking, vícekriteriální hodnocení) aj. Z nejdůležitějších výsledků (závěrů) můžeme jmenovat prokázání významnosti pre-openingu jakožto fáze podnikání, zjištění absence odborné literatury zabývající se touto problematikou či obtížnost zpracování tohoto materiálu vzhledem k jeho obsáhlému charakteru náročnému na znalosti a zkušenosti začínajících podnikatelů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of hotel pre-openings and summarizes findings about activities which have to be secured in the period before the opening. All these activities are also mentioned as well as in context to the future managing of the hotel i.e. to activities carried out after the commencement of operation. This thesis is divided into three basics parts which mean theoretical-methodological part, analytical and design parts. In the first part, the characteristics of market of the hotel industry, legislation and general description of the pre-openings are solved. In the second part, we can get acquainted with the areas covering the most important activities carrying out before the commencement of hotel operation which we have analyzed. These are primarily the field of HR, room division, food & beverage, maintenance, marketing and financial department and crisis management. In the last part, we focused on itself design of the progress chart of activities which have to be ensured necessarily in the period of pre-opening of every accommodation establishment, including taking into consideration the time factor. The aim of this thesis was to work out the material which would describe and clarify the most important activities, steps and procedures leading to successful managing of the hotel pre-opening so that the hotel could establish itself in the market with success. The aim was to summarize all current knowledge of this issue and process them not only by theoretical point of view, but also practical i.e. on example of particular accommodation establishment. Various scientific methods were used in this thesis of which we can mention for example description, comparison, synthesis, analytical methods (SWOT analysis, benchmarking, multi-criteria evaluation), etc. Like most important results (conclusions) we can mention the demonstration of the importance of pre-opening as one of the business stage, an absence of specialized literature dedicated to this issue or the difficulty of the processing of this material due to its character exacting to the knowledge and experience of starting businessmen.
