Psychosomatic Load of Midwifery Students

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem této práce bylo zjistit, který stupeň zátěže, podle klasifikace W. Meistera, se u studentů porodní asistence vykytuje nejčastěji. Dílčími cíli práce bylo zjistit, zda tuto zátěž ovlivňuje ročník studentů, vysoká škola, věk, předchozí středoškolské vzdělání či momentální spokojenost se studiem. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 120 studentů oboru porodní asistentka tří vysokých škol. Výzkum byl realizován pomocí standardizovaného Meisterova dotazníku, který hodnotí stupeň neuropsychické zátěže a byl doplněn o několik demografických otázek. Šetření probíhalo v období od října do prosince 2014. Výsledky: Výzkumným šetřením bylo zjištěno, že studenti oboru porodní asistentka celkově vykazují zátěž na stupni 2, tj. zátěž, při které může docházet k dočasnému ovlivnění subjektivního stavu. Dále bylo zjištěno, že stupeň zátěže se u jednotlivých ročníků neliší. Neliší se také ani mezi studenty se zdravotnickým předchozím vzděláním a studenty s nezdravotnickým vzděláním. Oproti tomu se stupeň zátěže liší mezi studenty jednotlivých vysokých škol a liší se také v závislosti na hodnocení spokojenosti se studiem. Mezi věkovými kategoriemi studentů byl zjištěn rozdíl v konečném stupni zátěže jen minimální. Závěr: Tato práce přinesla spíše pozitivní výsledky. Bylo zjištěno, že studenti porodní asistence ze tří vybraných vysokých škol, odpovídají 2. stupni psychické zátěže, tj. zátěž, při které může pravidelně docházet k dočasnému ovlivňování subjektivního stavu. Třetí stupeň psychické zátěže se u studentů porodní asistence dle odpovědí nevyskytuje. Konkrétní odpovědi studentů na dané položky mohou být přínosné především pro pedagogy v podobě zkvalitnění výuky a eliminaci zátěžových situací pro studenty.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the study was to determine whether psychosomatic stress occurs among the students of midwifery, and if so what degree of distress occurs most frequently. Other objectives were to determine whether the degree of distress differs between students from different grades throughout a college. Last but not least objective was to determine whether the degree of stress is in any way affected by their previous education, age, or satisfaction with current study. Methods: The research sample consisted of 120 students of midwifery from three universities. The research was conducted using a standardized Meister questionnaire, which assesses the degree of neuropsychiatric burden and was accompanied by several demographic questions. The survey was conducted over the period from October to December 2014. Results: Research survey has found that students of midwifery show overall evidence of psychosomatic stress load level 2, the load at which their subjective state may be temporarily influenced. It was further found that the degree of load does not depend on student?s year of study. It had also been proven that the load of stress does not differ between students with prior medical education and students with non-medical education. In contrast, the degree of distress varies between individual students and universities mainly depending on the evaluation of their personal satisfaction with the study. Among the age groups of students was the difference in the final stage of the burden only minimal. Conclusion: This work has brought mere positive results. It was found that students of midwifery from three selected universities show evidence of the second stage of psychological stress, i.e the load at which their temporary subjective state can be regularly influenced. The third level of psychological stress does not occure among the students of midwifery according to responses. Specific responses of students to different questions may be particularly beneficial for teachers in the form of improving teaching and eliminate stressful situations for students.
