Fast and Slow Fashion as a Social Phenomenon

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou rychlé a pomalé módy (fast fashion, slow fashion). Nejprve oba pojmy definuje, popíše jejich význam a historii. Následně je vysvětlen koncept rychlé módy, jeho vliv na zdraví jednotlivce, životní prostředí a nedůstojné pracovní podmínky, ve kterých jsou oděvní zaměstnanci v rozvojových zemích nuceni pracovat. Následně je vysvětlen princip udržitelnosti, způsob recyklace textilních materiálů a pojem greenwashing. V neposlední řadě práce obsahuje analýzu způsobu prodeje a prezentace českých tvůrců pomalé módy využitím metody hloubkového rozhovoru. Bakalářská práce nahlíží na problematiku především z hlediska trvale udržitelného rozvoje.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis takes up the issue of fast and slow fashion. The first section defines both terms and describes their meaning and history. Subsequently the concept of fast fashion, its impact on one?s health, the environment and atrocious labour conditions of garment workers working in developing countries are explained. Then the principle of sustainability, the method of recycling textile materials and the concept of greenwashing are explained. Last but not least, the work contains an analysis of the method of sales and presentation of Czech slow fashion creators using the method of an in-depth interview. The bachelor thesis observes the issue mainly in terms of sustainable development.
