The end of coal mining in Karvina region and possibilities of public administration to prevent the rise in unemployment

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je vyhodnotit účinnost použitých nástrojů politiky zaměstnanosti za účelem zmírnění negativních dopadů spojených s útlumem hornictví na Karvinsku. Důraz bude kladen na nástroje aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti. Teoretická část bude věnovaná historii hornictví na Karvinsku a postupnému útlumu těžby, které s sebou neslo celou řadu nepříznivých socio-ekonomických dopadů. V práci budou vymezeny základní pojmy související s nezaměstnaností, odvětvovou strukturou ekonomiky a s realizací politiky zaměstnanosti, ať už pasivní nebo aktivní. V závěrečné části práce budou vyhodnoceny použité nástroje politiky zaměstnanosti. V práci budou využita veřejně dostupná data.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of the employment policy instruments used to mitigate the negative impacts associated with the decline of coal mining in the Karviná region. Emphasis will be placed on instruments of active employment policy. The theoretical part will be devoted to the history of coal mining in the Karviná region and the gradual decline of coal mining, which brought with it a number of adverse socio-economic impacts. The thesis will define the basic concepts related to unemployment, the sectoral structure of the economy and the implementation of employment policy, whether passive or active. In the final part of the work the instruments used in employment policy will be evaluated. The work will use publicly available data.
