The dissertation deals with the development of the Czechoslovak secret political police - the State Security (the StB) - in the Pardubice Region between 1945 and 1953. The research was focused on the establishment, formation, organizational structure, staffing and the main aims of the activity of the Pardubice regional unit of the StB.
