Adaption of Seniors with Dementia to a Special Regime Home

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na proces adaptace seniorů na domov se zvláštním režimem. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak probíhá adaptace ve vybraném domově se zvláštním režimem, jaké faktory napomáhají v adaptačním období, jaké změny nastávají v psychickém a zdravotním stavu seniora po přijetí do domova se zvláštním režimem a jaký je výskyt problémového chování u seniorů s demencí ve vybraném domově a za jakých situací k němu dochází. Praktická část práce zkoumala adaptační proces pomocí rozhovorů, pozorování a analyzování vybraných dokumentů. Z výsledků je patrné, jak probíhá adaptační proces ve vybraném zařízení a poukazuje i na nedostatky ze strany personálu vybraného domova se zvláštním režimem.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the process of adaptation of the elderly to a Special regime home. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the adaptation takes place in the selected home with special regime, what factors help in the adaptation period, what changes occur in the psychological and health state of the elderly after admission to the home with special regime and what is the incidence of problem behaviour in seniors with dementia in the selected home and under what situations it occurs. The practical part of the thesis investigated the adaptation process by means of interviews, observation and analysis of selected documents. The results show how the adaptation process takes place in the selected facility and also point out the shortcomings on the part of the staff of the home with a special régime.
