Needs of a Patient with an Eating Disorder

Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to identify and to describe, by means of a casuistic method, needs of a patient with an eating disorder on psychiatric department during disorder, complication occurrence and treatment. Methodology: The empirical part of the thesis is processed by form of case study. A case study is a research methodology, where study of a patient or one person is described in detail. Case study is divided to several parts: anamnesis, catamnesis, analysis, interpretation, and discussion. Information appears in catamnesis which are related to patient and their needs. This information was divided to three parts: during diagnostic process, during treatment and the end of treatment. Results: Conclusion is scrutinizingly described by needs of patient with eating disorder. Therapy is prolonged and difficult. Management of therapy and complications depends on willingness to cooperate, personality of patient, family background, habits, and support of surrounding. According to my respondent, the most important is need of love and need of information. Conclusion: Thesis is specialized on needs of patient with eating disorder. Every patient with eating disorder shows up specific needs and experiences. It is important that personal of hospital maintains individuality and reaches to fulfill patient's needs. Abstract:

Cieľ: Cieľom bakalárskej práce je metódou kazuistiky zistiť a popísať potreby pacienta s poruchou príjmu potravy na psychiatrickom oddelení počas priebehu ochorenia, výskytu komplikácií a liečby. Metodika: Empirická časť bakalárskej práce je spracovaná formou kazuistiky. Kazuistika patrí medzi metodiky výskumné, v ktorej je popisovaná podrobná a ucelená štúdia jednej osoby, pacienta. Kazuistika je rozdelená na niekoľko časti: anamnéza, katamnéza, analýza, interpretácia a diskusia. V katamnéze sa vyskytujú informácie vzťahujúce k pacientovi a jeho potrebám. Tieto informácie boli rozdelené do troch časti: počas priebehu stanovenia diagnózy, počas liečby ochorenia a pri ukončení liečby. Výsledky: V závere práce sú podrobne opísané potreby pacientky s diagnostikovanou poruchou príjmu potravy. Potreby u človeka s anorexiou sú potlačované. Terapia ochorenie je dlhodobá a náročná. Zvládanie terapie a všetkých komplikácii závisí na ochote spolupráce a osobnosti chorého, rodinného zázemia, zvyklosti a podpore okolia. Podľa uváženia respondentky vyplýva že najdôležitejšie je potreba lásky a informovanosti. Záver: V práci sú vyzdvihnuté jednotlivé potreby pacientky s poruchou príjmu potravy. Každý pacient s týmto ochorením vykazuje špecifické potreby a ich prežívanie. Dôležité je aby zdravotnícky personál pristupoval ku každému pacientovi individuálne a usiloval o naplnení jeho potrieb.
