Competences developed through AIESEC membership and their subsequent use in practice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřená na problematiku rozvoje kompetencí v organizaci AIESEC a jejich následného využité v praxi. Teoretická část se zabývá definicí pojmu kompetence, jejich rozdělení a více podrobným popisem jednotlivých kategorií. Dále se práce zabývá kompetencemi získávaným během studia na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze a kompetencemi očekávanými od zaměstnavatelů. Tato část je také doplněna poznatky o metodách zjišťování kompetencí u uchazečů o pracovní pozice. Následuje představení organizace AIESEC a podrobnější seznámení s pobočkou AIESEC Praha. Praktická část této práce poté zahrnuje kvantitativní výzkum provedený pomocí dotazníkového šetření a kvalitativní výzkum, jež probíhá pomocí individuálních rozhovorů s HR profesionály. Výsledky výzkumu poté odhalují, že 76 % dotazovaných považuje organizaci AIESEC jako přínosnou pro jejich další kariéru a že organizace rozvíjí především kompetence v oblasti sociálních kompetencí a kompetencí ve vztahu k vlastní osobě. V závěru práce jsou definována doporučení pro zlepšení kvality rozvoje kompetencí v organizaci a jsou doporučeny kompetence, na jejichž rozvoj by se organizace měla soustředit.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the problematics of the development of competencies in the organization AIESEC and its use in the future career of its members. The theoretical defines the term competence, its division and a more detailed description of each category. Then the thesis deals with the competencies gained while studying at the Prague University of Economics and Business and the competencies expected from employers. This part also includes methods of detecting the competencies of job applicants during the hiring process. Furthermore, the organization AIESEC is presented and Local Committee AIESEC Prague is described in more detail. The practical part of this thesis includes quantitative research conducted through questionnaire and qualitative research, which was done through individual interviews with HR professionals. The research results reveal that 76% of respondents consider the AIESEC organization as beneficial for their future careers and that the organization develops mainly social competencies and competencies related to self-management. At the end of the thesis, recommendations for developing competencies and the competencies that the organization should focus on are suggested.
