Development of the Communicative Competence in Foreign Language Teaching by Using Authentic Documents

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou získávání komunikativní kompetence při procesu osvojování si cizího jazyka. Zaměřuje se především na sociokulturní a sociolingvistické kompetence a upozorňuje na důležitost propojení výuky s reálným životem. Zkoumá na základě dotazníkového šetření, zda vyučující cizího jazyka na 2. stupni základních škol používají autentické dokumenty. Podává praktický návod, jak využívat při výuce nejen tradiční autentické dokumenty (např. píseň), ale nabízí také tipy na využití netradičních dokumentů (např. reklamních tiskovin) umožňujících poutavě a účinně přiblížit odlišné kulturní prostředí dané země.

Abstract:

The present work deals with the problematics of gaining the communicative competence when acquiring a foreign language. The main focus of the work is socio-cultural and socio-linguistic competence, where it underlines the importance of bridging education with real life experience. Based on a questionnaire research, the works examines the practice of authentic materials use at lower secondary schools. Besides, the present work proposes a practical guidline how to use not only traditional authentic materials (e.g. songs), but also non-traditional documents (e.g. publicity leaflets) in teaching a foreign language. The use of the mentioned documents enables an interesting and efficient presentation of a different cultural backroung of the target country.
