Project management implementation in the hotel industry

Abstract:

Main goal of this master´s disertation is to make documentation on implementation and planning phases for specific project. Then thanks the experience gained during working on this disertation propose recomendation for aplicaton project management in the hotel industry. Theoretical part is focused on describing parts of project management, continues with describing connections between project management and hotel background, and then the cycle of the project. Next part, an analyst, uses chosen methods to do neccesary project documentation. It begins with the comparison of two producers non – alcoholic drinks and continues with the external analyst of hotel industry background by the method PESTLE. After that, an analyst of stakeholders, project risks and also calculation of project costs is made. Analyst part ends with conclusion in time schedule of project. The last part, design one, formulates suggestions on aplication project management in the hotel industry.

Abstract:

Hlavným cieľom diplomovej práce je spracovanie dokumentácie pre predprojektovú a projektovú fázu (zahájenie a plánovanie projektu) pre konkrétny projekt, a na základe skúseností so spracovaním potrebnej dokumentácie navrhnúť odporúčanie pre aplikáciu projektového managementu v hotelierstve. Teoretická časť je zameraná na charakteristiku projektového managementu. Ďalej je v nej popísaná spojitosť s hotelovým prostredím a životný cyklus projektu. Nadväzujúca analytická časť využíva vybrané metódy k vypracovaniu potrebnej projektovej dokumentácie. Analýza počína komparáciou dvoch výrobcov nápojových a pokračuje analytickou metódou externého prostredia hotelov PESTLE. Ďalej pokračuje analyzovaním projektových rizík a jeho zainteresovaných strán, vytvorením kalkulácie nákladov projektu a vyústená v časovom harmonograme projektu. V návrhovej časti sú formulované odporúčania pre aplikáciu projektového managementu v hotelierstve.
