Economic background of the progress of the Czechoslovak cinema in the years 1953-1956

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na popis vývoje československé kinematografie v letech 1953-1956 a na analýzu jejího ekonomického pozadí. Soustředí se zejména na financování kinematografie v centrálně řízeném hospodářství, které srovnává s financováním kinematografie ve standartním prostředí trhu. Cílem práce je detailně popsat model organizace výroby kinematografie nazývaný státně řízený modus produkce na základě dobových archivních materiálů. Dále se zaměří na problémy vycházející z tohoto typu produkce.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the progress of the Czechoslovak cinema in the years 1953-1956 and on the analysis of its economic background. It particularly focuses on the financing of the cinematography under a centrally controlled economy and compares it with the financing of cinematography in a more standard market environment. The aim of the thesis is to provide a detailed description of the model of organisation of film production, referred to as the modus of state-controlled production, on the basis of contemporary archival materials. It also considers the problems arising from this type of production.
