Development of the Czech insurance market from the perspective of insurers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu vývoje českého pojistného trhu a na aspekty, které ovlivnily v průběhu let jeho průběh. Cílem teoretické části je přiblížení pojistného trhu tak, aby jeho podstatu pochopil i člověk neorientující se v pojistné sféře, představit čtenářům význam pojišťoven, zahrnout jejich členění a provázanost na ostatní účastníky a následně přiblížit význam pojišťovacích skupin fungujících na našem území. V rámci empirické části je cílem zaujmout vývojovými změnami v počtu pojišťovacích subjektů, počtu zaměstnanců v pojišťovnách, vývojem celkového předepsaného pojistného a vybranými pojistnými produkty. Zhodnotíme také hospodaření specializovaných pojišťoven a v neposlední řade se budeme zabývat fúzemi, kterými si pojistný trh v minulosti prošel. Závěrečná část je věnována predikci přepokládaného vývoje českého pojistného trhu pro blízkou budoucnost.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the development of the Czech insurance market and the aspects that have influenced its course over the years. The aim of the theoretical part is to present the insurance market in such a way that its essence can be understood even by a person who is not familiar with the insurance sphere, to introduce the importance of insurance companies to the readers, to include their division and interdependence with other participants and then to present the importance of insurance groups operating in our country. In the empirical part, the aim is to capture the evolutionary changes in the number of insurance entities, the number of employees in insurance companies, the evolution of total premiums written and selected insurance products. We will also assess the performance of specialist insurance companies and, last but not least, we will look at the mergers that the insurance market has gone through in the past. The final section is devoted to a forecast of the expected development of the Czech insurance market in the near future.
