Anotácia:

Účelem této práce je prozkoumat změny nářečních prvků v řeči a písních the Beatles. Práce představí Liverpoolskou angličtinu (Scouse) a porovná její výskyt v mluvě the Beatles mezi šedesátými lety a pozdějšími dekádami za použití komparativní analýzy různých rozhovorů se zaměřením na nejdůležitější prvky Scouse. Dále se zaměří na výslovnost v jejich písních a podívá se na Liverpoolskou angličtinu i v kulturním kontextu za účelem zjištění vlivu Scouse na jejich kariéry.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to examine the changes in the accents of the Beatles in their speech and their songs. The thesis introduces Liverpool English (also called Scouse) and then compares how much it appeared in the speech of the Beatles in the 1960s to the later decades by conducting a comparative analysis of various interviews with a focus on salient phonetic features of Scouse. It also analyses the accent in their songs and looks at their accent in a cultural context to determine the extent of influence it had on their careers.
