Videokonferencie sú jednou s najperspektívnejších technológií a rýchlo sa rozvíjajúcim oborom informačných technológií. Ich využite má čoraz väčšie uplatnenie v rôznych smeroch ľudskej činnosti ako medicína, školstvo, ale i veda a výskum.
