Accounting frauds in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem účetních podvodů. Teoretická část se v první řadě soustředí na vymezení základních pojmů, které jsou pro porozumění této práce stěžejní. Pojednává o rozdílech mezi účetním podvodem, kreativním účetnictvím a účetní chybou. Dále se zabývá konkrétními druhy vnitřních podvodných jednání. V závěru teoretické části jsou popsány příčiny podvodů, kroky vedoucí k jejich detekci a možné způsoby prevence. V praktické části jsou detailně rozebrány kriminální případy podvodů, jejichž vyšetřováním se zabýval policejní orgán pražské hospodářské kriminální policie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of accounting frauds. The theoretical part focuses primarily on defining the basic concepts that are crucial for understanding this thesis. It deals with the differences between accounting fraud, creative accounting and accounting error. It also deals with specific types of internal fraud. The conclusion of the theoretical part describes the causes of fraud, the steps leading to their detection and possible methods of prevention. In the practical part, criminal cases of fraud investigated by the Prague Economic Criminal Police are analyzed in detail.
