Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice funkcí a aplikací map kriminality. V úvodní části je zpracována analýza vývoje kriminality v České republice a pojednání o programech prevence kriminality. Tyto informace jsou doplněny popisem současného stavu v oblasti tvorby map kriminality a analýzou důsledků jejich praktické aplikace v národním i mezinárodním prostředí.
