Influence of multisensory therapy on pupils with behavioral disorders in a special school

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou multisenzoriální terapie a zkoumání jejího vlivu na žáky s poruchou chování. Hlavním cílem je představit možnosti využití multisenzoriální místnosti (Snoezelenu) v rámci výchovně vzdělávacího procesu a posoudit její účinek na vzorku respondentů. Dílčím cílem je sestavení plánu aktivit na školní rok a následně jej realizovat v praxi. Výzkumným záměrem je ověřit, zda v rámci plnění plánu aktivit je ovlivněna emoční oblast vybraných žáků. Teoretická část seznamuje s postupem a výsledky kvalitativního šetření zaměřeného na analýzu využití Snoezelenu ve vybrané škole z úrovně ISCED 2. Cílovou skupinu tvoří čtyři žáci s poruchami chování. Sledováno je především uvolnění žáků, zmírnění projevů agrese, snížení neklidu a nežádoucích stereotypů plynoucích z daného postižení. Spolu s metodou analýzy jsou využity metody pozorování a rozhovoru. Nasbíraná data jsou zpracována metodou otevřeného kódování a vyhodnocena pomocí nástrojů deskriptivní statistiky.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the is me of multisensory therapy and the investigation of its influence on students with behavioral disorders. The main goal is to present the possibilities of using the multisensory room (Snoezelen) with in the educational process and to assess it seffect on the sample of respondents. A partial goalis to draw up a plan of activities for the school year and then implement it in practice. The research purpose is to verify whether the emotional area of the selected pupils is affected as part of the implementation of the activity plan. The theoretical part introducest he procedure and results of a qualitative investigation focused on the analysis of the use of Snoezelen in a selected school from ISCED level 2. The target group consists of four students with behavioral disorders. The focus is mainly on the relaxation of the pupils, mitigation of aggression, reduction of restlessness and unwanted stereotypes arising from the given disability. Together with the method of analysis, observation and interview methods are used. The collected data are processed using the open coding method and evaluated using descriptive statistics tools.
