Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl přiblížit čtenáři problematiku české scénografie, konkrétně jevištní a částečně kostýmní tvorbu scénografa Karla Zmrzlého (1936 - 2000). Zabýváme se zde jeho nejvýznamnějším tvůrčím obdobím, které je spojeno s režijní osobností Milana Páska a s brněnskými divadly - Státním divadlem v Brně a Divadlem bratří Mrštíků. V operních inscenacích umělecký tandem doplnil dirigent Václav Nosek. Tato etapa začíná rokem 1967 a končí 1989. Za těchto dvaadvacet let vytvořil ve spolupráci s Páskem třicet šest inscenací. Chronologicky řazené kapitoly obsahují stručné scénografické rozbory třiatřiceti inscenací a důkladnější scénografické rozbory se zaměřují na tři nejvýznamnější inscenace - Frank Pátý (DBM), Lulu (SDB) a Mrtvé duše (SDB). Závěrem práce je zcharakterizování výtvarného stylu Karla Zmrzlého a celkové zhodnocení scénografií tohoto období.

Abstract:

This thesis aims at giving the reader an explanation of the problems of the Czech stage design, specifically the scene output and partially the costume output of the designer Karel Zmrzlý (1936 - 2000). We are dealing with his most important creative period which is connected with the director personality Milan Pásek along with Brno’s theatres – the National theatre in Brno (NTB) and the Mrštík Brothers’ theatre (MBT). The tandem of the art was topped by Václav Nosek up in opera production. This period lasts from 1967 to 1989. Karel Zmrzlý created in this collaboration 36 productions during these 22 years. Chronologically sorted chapters contain short stage design analyses of 33 productions. Close stage design analyses are focusing on the three main productions – “Frank the fifth“(MBT), “Lulu“(NTB) and “The dead soul” (NTB). The last part of this work is dealing with characterizing of the graphic style of Karel Zmrzlý and with general assessment of the productions of this period.
