Communication between School and Foreign Parents

Abstract:

Moje diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou komunikace mezi školou a rodiči cizinci. V teoretické části se zabývám otázkami komunikace všeobecně, jak komunikace probíhá, jaké jsou druhy a formy komunikace, ale také možné problémy a bariéry, které mohou v průběhu komunikace nastat. Vše je poté zaměřeno na interkulturní diference komunikace. V této části jsou uvedeny i vlivy na interkulturní komunikaci jako je klima školy, specifičnost účastníků a kompetence pedagoga. Na část teoretickou navazuje praktická část, která se zabývá komunikací s rodiči cizinci a je doplněna dotazníkem s žákyní cizinkou. Na základě uvedených teoretických informací o odlišnostech kultur navrhuji způsoby komunikace pro snažší spolupráci mezi školou (konkrétně učiteli) a rodiči cizinci. V závěru mé praktické části podávám rady, jak by konkrétně měla verbální a neverbální (písemná) komunikace probíhat, aby nedocházelo ke zbytečným bariérám a informace byly správně předány.

Abstract:

My diploma thesis focuses on communication between school and foreign parents. The theoretical part of my thesis deals with communication in general, how communication works, the specific types and forms, as well as the possible problems and barriers that can occur during communication. The main focus is then on intercultural diferences in communication. This part shows some of the effects on intercultural communication such as the school climate, the particularity of a participant and the competence of a teacher. The theoretical part is followed by the practical part, which focuses on communication with foreign parents and includes questionnaire that was completed by a foreign student. Based on the theoretical information about the cultural difference I propose communication methods that can improve the cooperation between a school (specifically teachers) and foreign parents. In the final part I give advices on how exactly should the verbal and nonverbal communication look like, so it does not cause uncessesary communication barriers and that the information are correctly presented.
