The thesis presents the analysis of the Ukrainian media system within the comparative framework of Hallin and Mancini’s approach. The relation between media system and the political system was analyzed according to four dimensions: the development of the media market, political parallelism, journalistic professionalism, and the role of the state in relation to the media.
