Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je analýza vývoje zvláštních ekonomických zón v ČLR v období od převzetí moci reformním vedením do vstupu ČLR do WTO. Autor zkoumá tuto problematiku v širším kontextu otevírání čínské ekonomiky, respektive celého reformní procesu, hodnotí měnící se roli zvláštních ekonomických zón v čínské ekonomice, jejich úspěchy, ale také neúspěchy.
