The problems of personnel management in small firms

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce zkoumá specifika vykonávání personální práce v malých firmách, konkrétně problémy související s výkonem jednotlivých personálních činností. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak se s problémy personální práce vypořádávají konkrétní malé firmy terciárního sektoru v okrese Brno – město. Práce je rozdělena na tři části – teoretickou, metodologickou a empirickou. Kvalitativní výzkum provedený na základě tematické analýzy a interpretace dat získaných z polostandardizovaných rozhovorů ukazuje, s jakými problémy personální práce se potýká pět vybraných firem. Výzkum odpovídá na otázku, kdo a jakým způsobem tyto problémy řeší. Popisuje faktory, které mohou řešení problémů ovlivňovat, a objasňuje možné překážky, které brání řešení těchto problémů. Diplomová práce nalézá určité zákonitosti nebo naopak odlišnosti u analyzovaných firem.

Abstract:

This Master diploma thesis examines the specifics of personnel management in small firms, specifically problems related to performance of the specific personnel activities. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the particular small firms of the tertiary sector in the district of Brno - the city deal with the problems of personnel work. The thesis is divided into three parts – theoretical, methodological and empirical. Qualitative research conducted on the basis of thematic analysis and interpretation of data from semi-standardized interviews show the problems of personnel work which five selected companies are facing. The research answers the question of by whom and how these problems are solved. It describes the factors that can influence problem solving and explains possible obstacles that can block solving these problems. The thesis finds certain patterns or differences of the analyzed companies.
