Activities of the Czech republic in the UN Human Rights

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat aktivitu České republiky v Radě OSN pro lidská práva. Tato práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, první se zabývá teoriií zahraniční politiky. Dále se věnuje zahraniční politice České republiky, jejím aktérům, nástrojům a stanoveným cílům. V této části se take zmiňuji o lidských právech, která jsou nedílnou součástí České zahraniční politiky. V druhé části bakalářké práce analyzuji priority České republiky, které měla jako člen Rady OSN pro lidská práva. Tato část je rozdělena podle členství na dvě kapitoly, každá se věnuje jednomu z členských období. V obou se zaměřuji na priority, které pro dané členské období Česká republika měla. Zabývám se zejména aktivtou České republiky na zasedáních Rady OSN pro lidská práva. V druhé kapitole se mimo zasedání věnuji také rezolucím na jejichž vytváření se Česká republika sama podílela. Tato bakalářská práce měla zodpovědět výzkumné otázky týkající se zaměření České republiky v Radě OSN pro lidská práva, odlišností mezi cíli v zahraniční politice České republiky a v Radě OSN pro lidská práva a zda svých cílů v Radě OSN Česká republika dosáhla.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the Czech Republic's activity in the UN Human Rights Council. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is dealing with the theory of foreign policy, foreign policy of the Czech Republic, also as its actors, instruments and set goals. This part also mentions human rights, which are an integral part of Czech foreign policy. The second part of the bachelor thesis analyzes the priority of the Czech Republic as a member of the UN Human Rights Council. This part is divided to two smaller parts which are devoted to the member states and focused on the priorities for the Czech Republic in each member states. It deals mainly with the Czech Republic's activities at the UN Human Rights Council. Besides the second part also deals with the resolutions that the Czech Republic itself was involved in. This bachelor thesis should respond to the research questions concerning the Czech Republic's focus in the UN Human Rights Council, the differences between the objectives in the foreign policy of the Czech Republic and the UN Human Rights Council and whether they achieved their goals in the UN Council of the Czech Republic.
