The Connection of Fantastic Fictional Worlds with Natural Worlds in the Fantasy Literature

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na způsoby propojení minimálně dvou fikčních světů ve vybraných dílech žánru fantasy. Podmínkou je, aby byl jeden z fikčních světů světem přirozeným. Práce nejdříve vymezuje pojmy, se kterými bude dále pracovat (fantasy, fikční světy), dále předkládá nastínění rozdělení podžánrů fantasy a zmiňuje dosavadní teorii v oboru (Propp, Nikolajeva). Poté se již věnuje konkrétním dílům žánru fantasy, v nichž jsou zobrazovány alespoň dva fikční světy, a to nejdříve ve světové fantasy (s orientací na anglo-americkou tvorbu - Gaiman, Zelazny aj.) a poté v české fantasy (Renčín, Rečková aj.). Jádro práce tvoří pokus diferenciovat způsoby průchodů mezi přirozenými a fantastickými fikčními světy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with methods of connection at least two fictional worlds in chosen works of the fantasy literature. The only condition is, that one of the depicted worlds has to be the natural world. At first, the thesis defines the used terms (fantasy, fictional world), then it shows existing allocation of the subgenres of fantasy and the existing theoretical conceptions of the passages between two worlds (Propp, Nikolajeva). Then it describes the types of passages in particular works of fantasy literature, first it speaks about anglo-american fantasy (e.g. Gaiman, Zelazny) and then about Czech fantasy (e.g. Renčín, Rečková). The focus of the work is in the attempt to distinguish types of passages between the natural and the fantastic fictional worlds.
