Catering services of airlines and their perception by customers

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na kvalitu stravovacích služeb poskytovaných leteckými společnostmi. Primárním cílem práce je analyzovat kvalitu stravovacích služeb v letecké dopravě a zároveň porovnat kvalitu nabídky poskytovanou v cestovní třídě Economy dvou vybraných leteckých společností, České aerolinie, a.s. a Smartwings, a.s., s poptávkou cestujících. Sekundárním cílem práce je po zhodnocení kvality služeb podat doporučení, která pomohou leteckým společnostem k rozvoji a zdokonalení jejich služeb. Pro splnění stanovených cílů v této práci slouží kvantitativní výzkum provedený formou dotazníkového šetření, který zkoumá poptávku a vnímání cestujících po těchto službách. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy letecké dopravy, cateringu, a především leteckého cateringu včetně jeho historie, technického zajištění, bezpečnosti potravin a služeb. V praktické části jsou popsány cateringové služby vybraných společností spolu s jejich cenovou nabídkou. V poslední části práce jsou uvedeny zpracované výsledky provedeného výzkumu včetně návrhů a doporučení vyplývajících z výsledků šetření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the quality of catering services provided by airlines. The primary objective of the work is to analyse the quality of catering services in air transport while comparing the quality of the offer provided in the Economy class of two selected airlines, Czech Airlines, a.s. and Smartwings, a.s., with demand from passengers. The secondary objective of the work, after assessing the quality of service, is to make recommendations that will help airlines to develop and improve their services. Quantitative research carried out in the form of a questionnaire survey examining the demand and perception of passengers for these services serves to meet the objectives set in this work. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of air transport, catering, and above all flight catering, including its history, technical security, food safety and services. The practical part describes the catering services of the selected companies together with their price offer. The final part of the work presents the processed results of the research carried out, including suggestions and recommendations resulting from the results of the investigation.
