Aesthetics of generated nature forms in the context of new media

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce předvádí teoretický základ toho, jak lze esteticky nahlížet na tvorbu generované přírody. Dřívější modely estetiky pro dnešní počítačovou tvorbu již přestávají platit. Je proto potřeba hledat nové možnosti jak na digitální tvorbu nahlížet. Cílem práce je teoretické zmapování oblasti generované přírody a představení estetických modelů (především zobecněné estetiky Rogera Cailloise), ve snaze uplatnit jejich principy při estetickém pohledu na generovanou přírodu. V praktické části jsou uvedeny konkrétní příklady jednotlivých forem generované přírody včetně estetických náhledů vycházejících ze zmíněných tezí.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis provides a theoretical background for esthetic evaluation of the creation of generated nature. Previous esthetic models are no longer valid for today’s computer creations. Therefore, it is necessary to search for new possibilities how to look at digital creations. The objective of this thesis is to map theoretically the field of generated nature and to introduce esthetic models, especially Roger Cailloise’s generated esthetics. This model was introduced to use its principles for esthetic evaluation of generated nature. The practical part of the thesis introduces concrete examples of particular forms of generated nature, including esthetic views based on the above mentioned principles.
