Evaluation of Textbooks with the Help of Eye Tracking

Abstract:

ANOTACE Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením učebnic studenty Učitelství pro 1. stupeň ZŠ s pomocí výzkumné technologie Eye trackingu. V teoretické části jsou kapitoly, které nás seznámí s pojmem učebnice a jejím hodnocením. Také nás seznámí s Eye trackingem, což je metoda pro sledování očních pohybů. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, kam se respondenti dívají při hodnocení učebnic a jaké proměnné mají vliv na délku fixace očních pohledů. V praktické části práce byla získaná data podrobena kvalitativnímu i kvantitativnímu výzkumu. Kvalitativní výzkum zkoumá, kam se respondenti dívají při subjektivním hodnocení dané učebnice. Kvalitativní výzkum zkoumá, jaké proměnné mají vliv na délku fixací respondenta. V závěru jsou uvedeny všechny výsledky výzkumu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of textbooks by students of Teacher Education for the 1st grade of elementary school with the help of Eye tracking research technology. In the theoretical part, there are chapters that introduce us to the concept of a textbook and its evaluation. It will also introduce us to Eye tracking, which is a method for tracking eye movements. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out where the respondents look when evaluating textbooks and what variables have an effect on the length of eye gaze fixation. In the practical part of the work, the obtained data were subjected to qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research examines where respondents look when subjectively evaluating a given textbook. Qualitative research examines what variables influence the length of a respondent's fixations. All research results are presented in the conclusion.
