Analysis of Variable and Fixed Costs and Their Use in Business Management

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá variabilními a fixními náklady, jejich analyzováním a využíváním v praxi při řízení podniku. Efektivnímu řízení nákladů je zapotřebí věnovat náležitou pozornost. Stále více roste podíl fixních nákladů na celkových nákladech společnosti, a proto význam řízení variabilních a fixních nákladů je také zvyšován. Teoretické poznatky jsou aplikovány na společnost ENERMO s.r.o. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. První kapitola je teoretická a obsahuje rozbor literárních zdrojů pojednávajících o problematice nákladů a kalkulací nákladů. Dále se zabývá využitím členění nákladů na variabilní a fixní složku při stanovení bodu zvratu a možností jeho využití v praxi. Druhá kapitola zahrnuje charakteristiku vybraného podnikatelského subjektu a jeho aktivit. Je tedy zaměřena na třídění nákladů společnosti na variabilní a fixní složku, výpočet bodu zvratu a jeho využití v konkrétních podmínkách podniku, kalkulaci nákladů a na tvorbu nabídkové ceny. Následující kapitola je zaměřena na aplikaci variabilních a fixních nákladů. Je zanalyzován způsob přiřazování nepřímých nákladů výkonům a kalkulace nabídkové ceny na realizovanou zakázku. Na základě výsledků analýz jsou v závěru navržena doporučení pro zlepšení současného stavu řízení nákladů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with variable and fixed costs, their analyzing and use in the practice of business management. It is necessary to pay appropriate attention to the effective cost control. The share of fixed costs to total costs of the company increases more and more and therefore the importance of variable and fixed costs management is also increased. Theoretical knowledge is applied to the company ENERMO Ltd. The work is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The first chapter is theoretical and contains a theoretical analysis of literary sources dealing with the issues of costs and cost calculations. Next it deals with the use of variable and fixed costs at the determination of a break-even point and the possibility of its use in practice. The second chapter contains the characteristic of a selected business entity and its activities. It therefore focuses on the classification of costs into variable and fixed elements, calculation of a break-even point and its use in the specific conditions of the company, costing and the creation of the bid price. The following chapter focuses on the application of variable and fixed costs. The method for assigning indirect costs to the performance and the calculation of bid prices to the realized request are analyzed. Based on the results of the analyses recommendations for improving the current state of the cost management are proposed in the conclusion.
