Socially Engaged Projects in Collaborative Art

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zaměřuje na význam spolupráce v mezilidských vztazích a na její podoby v uměleckém prostoru. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. Teoretická část se soustředí na vymezení problematiky kolaborativního umění - je zde věnována pozornost základním pojmům a definicím ze zvolené oblasti. Dále je také poukázáno na příčiny a východiska uměleckých praktik sociálně angažovaných projektů. Prostřednictvím teoretických konceptů se práce zaměřuje na analýzu role kolaborativního umělce, na povahu sociálně angažovaného umění a na účastníka umělecké realizace. Teoretická část se dále věnuje cílům a strategiím sociálně angažovaných projektů. Práce se s ohledem na cílové skupiny dotýká řešení tématu problematiky opomíjených sociálních skupin a každodennosti v kontextu umění. Praktická část se zaměřuje na vztahové umění, na hledání vlastní umělecké identity a na postupy umělecké práce skrze sociální kontexty, interpersonální vztahy, samotné umění dialogu a participativní přístupy. Výsledná práce staví na vytváření sítě sociálních vztahů a na uplatnění uměleckých strategií z oblasti umění spolupráce.

Abstract:

The dissertation focuses on the significance of cooperation in interpersonal relations and on its forms in the art field. The thesis itself is divided into two main sections. The theoretical section focuses on the specification of collaborative art - here, attention is paid to basic terms and definitions from the chosen field. Further, the causes and basis of socially engaged projects' art practices are referred to, as well. The thesis focuses through theoretical concepts on the analysis of the collaborative artist's role, on the nature of socially engaged art, and on the participant of the artistic execution. Further in the theoretical section, the goals and strategies of socially engaged projects are pointed out. The thesis touches on solving the subject of the marginalized social groups issue and of dailiness in the context of art, with regard to the focus groups. It is proceeded so in order to create a theoretical framework for the second section of the thesis. The practical section focuses on relation art, on the search for one's own artistic identity, and on the procedure of the artistic progress through social contexts, interpersonal relations, the art of dialogue itself, and participative approaches. The final result builds on creating a network of social relations and on applying artistic strategies from the field of collaborative art.
