Formative Assessment as an Evaluation Tool in GFL Lessons at Selected Schools in the Ústí nad Labem Region

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to reflect the forms of assessment used in the teaching of German as a foreign language with focus on formative assessment at selected primary schools and lower levels of grammar schools in the Ústí and Labem Region, specifically in the districts of Most and Teplice. In the theoretical part is the concept of evaluation first generally defined, which is followed by the definition of school evaluation with descriptions of selected types of evaluation and their functions. The key part of the theoretical part is the chapter devoted to a detailed explanation of the concept of formative assessment and its key strategies. At the end of the theoretical part, the position of German as a foreign language in the Czech school system is described. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of data that emerged from a questionnaire survey, which was carried out in order to find out how teachers evaluate in the lessons of German as a foreign language, and whether and to what extent teachers at the above-mentioned schools use formative assessment in the lessons of German as a foreign language.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je reflektovat užívané formy hodnocení ve výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka se zaměřením na formativní hodnocení na vybraných základních školách a nižších gymnáziích v Ústeckém kraji, konkrétně v okresech Most a Teplice. V teoretické části je nejprve obecně definován pojem evaluace, na něhož navazuje definice školního hodnocení s popisy vybraných typů hodnocení a jejich funkce. Stěžejní část teoretické části tvoří kapitola, která se podrobně věnuje vysvětlení pojmu formativní hodnocení a jeho klíčových strategií. Na závěr teoretické části je popsáno postavení němčiny jako cizího jazyka v rámci českého školního systému. Empirická část práce se zabývá analýzou dat, která vzešla z dotazníkového šetření, které bylo provedeno za účelem zjistit, jakým způsobem vyučující němčiny jako cizího jazyka hodnotí, a zda a do jaké míry vyučující na výše uvedených školách využívají ve výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka formativní hodnocení.
