Learner autonomy in the teaching German as a foreign language at Waldorf schools compared to primary schools of the Pardubice Region

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the comparison of learner autonomy strategies used in the teaching of the German language at alternative primary school and primary school in the Pardubice region in the Czech Republic. This thesis compares schools' teaching plans, and the results of interviews with the teachers and children of the alternative Waldorf School Gorkého in Pardubice and the school Závodu míru. It focuses on the teaching and learning of German at the second level of primary schools. The theoretical part provides information about the Czech school system, standard school, alternative school, Waldorf school, about the learner autonomy, and teaching strategy and principles. In the practical part is information about the primary school Závodu míru of Pardubice and the Waldorf school Gorkého in Pardubice. The aim of the practical part is to compare school educational programs for the German language of both schools, to further analyze interviews with teachers and pupils, and to find learning strategies that are used at both schools and which support the learner autonomy.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá srovnáním učebních strategií autonomie žáků ve výuce německého jazyka na alternativní základní škole a základní škole v Pardubickém kraji. Nedílnou součástí této práce je porovnání školních výukových programů, výsledků rozhovorů s učiteli a dětmi druhého stupně alternativní Waldorfské školy Gorkého v Pardubicích a základní školy Závodu míru. Teoretická část poskytuje všeobecné informace o českém školství, tradiční škole, alternativní škole, Waldorfské škole, autonomii žáka a učebních strategiích. V praktické části jsou všeobecné informace o základní škole Závodu míru a Waldorfské škole Gorkého v Pardubicích. Cílem této části je analýza školních výukových programů obou škol, vyhodnocení využívaných učebních strategií, které jsou při procesu výuky německého jazyka aplikovány.
