Communication skills of bilingual preschool children

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je komunikační schopnost bilingvních dětí předškolního věku. Teoretická část se věnuje definici bilingvismu, jeho typologii, výskytu a vlivu na jedince. Dále je popsán řečový vývoj dítěte a jeho specifika u bilingvních mluvčích. Zmíněna je rovněž charakteristika předškolního dítěte, typologie bilingvních rodin a strategie bilingvní výchovy. V rámci praktické části bylo provedeno výzkumné šetření s cílem analyzovat komunikační schopnost čtyř bilingvních dětí předškolního věku. Výsledky z případových studií jsou shrnuty v závěrečné části bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of communication skills of bilingual preschool children. The theoretical part consists of bilingualism definition, its typology, scope and impact on individuals. The speech development in children including the specific phenomena linked with bilingualism are also described, as well as the characteristics of preschool children, typology of bilingual families and strategies of bilingual education. In the framework of the empirical part of the thesis, a qualitative research has been carried out with the objective of analysing the communications skills of four bilingual preschool children. The results from the case studies can be found in the final part of the thesis.
