Detection of GNSS horizontal position errors using 3D track maps

Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje zkoumání možností zvýšení integrity určení polohy vozidel pomocí GNSS pro potřeby železniční dopravy. V teoretické části jsou popsány základy určování polohy pomocí GNSS, železničních zabezpečovacích systémů a teorie spolehlivosti a bezpečnosti. Praktická část obsahuje měření s EGNOS přijímačem PolaRx3. Na základě naměřených dat jsou následně prováděny simulace chyb GNSS. Jsou simulovány chyby GNSS vzniklé vlivem vícecestného šíření. Pomocí simulací jsou prozkoumány vztahy mezi chybami určené polohy v horizontální rovině a vertikálním směru. Na základě analýzy vztahů pro výpočet polohy pomocí GNSS je vybrán vhodný matematický model. Provedené simulace jsou následně ověřeny tímto matematickým modelem. Jádrem práce je navržená nová metoda pro detekci chyby určení polohy v horizontální rovině na základě známé polohy ve vertikálním směru a její aktuální chyby. Je vypracován algoritmus detekce a nakonec jsou zkoumány a zhodnoceny vlastnosti navrženého detektoru.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the investigation of the possibilities of increasing integrity of the GNSS position determination for the railway transportation needs. The theoretical part deals with the theoretical foundations of positioning using GNSS, railway signalling systems and the theory of reliability and safety. The practical part contains measurements with EGNOS receiver PolaRx3. Simulations of GNSS errors are performed using measured datasets. GNSS errors due to multipath propagation are simulated. The relationships between errors in the horizontal plane and the vertical direction are explored by these simulations. An appropriate mathematical model is selected based on analysis of mathematical equations for GNSS position calculation GNSS position calculation. Simulation results are verified by a mathematical model. The core of this work is a new method for detection of a horizontal position error by means of a known vertical position and its current error. Detection algorithm is developed and properties of designed detector are investigated and evaluated at the end.
