Principles of Development of the International Hotel Chain on the Example of the Marriott International Chain

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje principům řízení mezinárodního hotelového řetězce, které se rozebírají na příkladu světově známé společnosti Marriott International a jednoho z jejích hotelů pod značkou Marriott Hotels. Teoretická část práce se zabývá tématem hotelnictví a jeho základními prvky, tedy pojetím hotelového řízení, managementem hotelového řetězce a jeho rozvojem. V rámci poslední z těchto problematik je také probráno strategické hotelové řízení, záměr hotelového řetězce, plánování a nakonec principy rozvoje. V analytické části dochází k popisu Marriott International a jeho historii. Pozornost je věnována nabídce služeb a organizační struktuře. Dále je realizována analýza rozvoje hotelového řetězce, v jejíž rámci jsou zpracovány jak sekundární zdroje, tak i primární zdroje získané během vlastního průzkumu. Výsledkem práce je shrnutí hlavních principů rozvoje Marriott International, které pomáhají hotelovému řetězci přežít na trhu i v těch nejnáročnějších podmínkách.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the principles of international hotel chain management, which are discussed on the example of the world-famous company Marriott International and one of its hotels under the brand Marriott Hotels. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of the hotel industry and its basic elements, ie the concept of hotel management, hotel chain management and its development. The last of these issues also discusses strategic hotel management, hotel chain intent, planning and finally the principles of development. The analytical part describes Marriott International and its history. Attention is paid to the offer of services and organizational structure. Furthermore, an analysis of the development of the hotel chain is carried out, within which both secondary sources and primary sources obtained during the survey are processed. The result of the work is a summary of the main principles of Marriott International development, which help the hotel chain to survive in the market even in the most demanding conditions.
