The Influence of Economic Crisis on European Tourism

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na základě nejnovějších statistických údajů analyzuje dopad hospodářské krize na klíčové makroukazatele evropského cestovního ruchu (příspěvek k HDP, zaměstnanost, návštěvnost). Vývoj těchto ukazatelů komparuje v rámci evropského prostoru. Následně se zabývá konkrétními dopady a rozdílnými obrannými strategiemi na úrovni evropské, národní a úrovni soukromých subjektů. Tyto strategie porovnává, posuzuje jejich společné a rozdílné znaky a dále je analyzuje z pohledu využití obecných doporučení mezinárodních organizací či EU. Hodnotí účinnost zvolených strategií a sestavuje doporučení pro minimalizaci následků krize pro cestovní ruch.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis based on the latest statistical data analyses the impact of the economic crisis on key macro-characteristics of European tourism (contribution to GDP, employment, attendance). The development of these indicators compares within the European area. Subsequently, deals with the specific impacts and different defensive strategies at European level, national level and the level of private entities. These strategies compare, assess their common and different characters and is further analysed from the perspective of the utilization of general recommendations of international organisations and the EU. Evaluate the effectiveness of the selected strategies and draw up recommendations for minimizing consequences of the crisis for tourism.
