Third role of Masaryk University with a focus on its influence on the cultural life of Brno

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá kulturními aktivitami, jako součástí plnění třetí role univerzity. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy, kterými jsou třetí role a následně kulturní role univerzity a její místo v rámci public relations instituce. Kulturní role univerzity je představena na základě případových studií domácích a zahraničních univerzit. Sledovány jsou kulturní aktivity a jejich prezentace veřejnosti prostřednictvím hlavních webových stránek univerzity. Cílem práce je na základě analýzy současného stavu kulturní role Masarykovy univerzity navrhnout možná řešení k posílení jejího obrazu jakožto kulturního činitele.

Abstract:

This master thesis elaborates on culture activities as a part of a university´s third role. The theoretical part of it defines the basic terms such as a third role of a university, a cultural role of a university, and its position within a PR institution. The university´s cultural role as such is than presented in case studies of local and international universities, their cultural activities and their presentations to the public on their main web pages. The aim of the thesis is to analyse how Masaryk University currently performs its cultural role, and to suggest how to intensify its presentation as a cultural player.
