GENDER INEQUALITIES IN THE LABOUR MARKET WITH A FOCUS ON PAY IN THE V4 COUNTRIES FOR THE PERIOD 2012-2021

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je věnována problematice rovných příležitostí pro muže a ženy na trhu práce se zaměřením na odměňování. Hlavním cílem této práce je provést hodnocení postavení žen na pracovním trhu v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky v období 2012 až 2021. Teoretická část práce definuje základní pojmy spojené s konceptem rovných příležitostí a odměňování, představuje nástroje pro podporu genderové rovnosti včetně legislativního rámce, institucionálního zabezpečení a finanční podpory v rámci Evropské unie a jednotlivých států. V praktické části práce pak probíhá komparativní analýza postavení žen na trhu práce s využitím základních statistických ukazatelů. Dále je věnována pozornost otázkám segregace na pracovním trhu a rozdílům ve mzdách mezi pohlavími. V poslední kapitole práce jsou formulována opatření, která by mohla přispět ke zlepšení situace žen na pracovním trhu daných zemí. Práce upozorňuje na nerovné postavení žen na trhu práce a zdůrazňuje, že těmto nerovnostem lze čelit prostřednictvím úsilí o překonání genderových stereotypů, podporou rovnováhy mezi prací a rodinným životem, flexibilními pracovní režimy a přizpůsobením rodinné politiky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of equal opportunities for men and women in the labour market with a focus on remuneration. The main objective of this thesis is to assess the position of women in the labour market in the Visegrad Four countries in the period 2012 and 2021. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the basic concepts related to the concept of equal opportunities and remuneration, presents the instruments for promoting gender equality, including the legislative framework, institutional support and financial support within the European Union and individual countries. In the practical part of the thesis, a comparative analysis of the position of women in the labour market is carried out using basic statistical indicators, which are disaggregated by gender in all countries studied. Furthermore, attention is paid to issues of labour market segregation and gender wage gaps. The last chapter of the thesis formulates measures that could contribute to improving the situation of women in the labour market. The thesis draws attention to the unequal position of women in the labour market and emphasises that these inequalities can be addressed through efforts to overcome gender stereotypes, promote work-life balance, flexible working arrangements and adapt family policies.
