This diploma thesis provides a comprehensive insight into extreme value theory. In addition to the standard approaches, which are the block maxima approach and the peaks-over-threshold approach, it also deals with point processes and their connection with extreme value theory. Abstract:
Táto diplomová práca poskytuje komplexný náhľad do problematiky teórie extrémnych hodnôt. Okrem štandardných prístupov, ktorými sú metóda blokových maxím a metóda presahov cez vysoký prah, sa zaoberá aj bodovými procesmi a ich prepojením s teóriou extrémnych hodnôt. V praktickej časti aplikuje nadobudnuté poznatky na reálnych dátach popisujúcich historické prietoky rieky Morava.
