Monogamy and Polygyny in the Societies in Ancient Mediterranean World
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá monogamií a polygynií ve společnostech starověkého Středomoří. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. Nejprve popisuje význam manželských forem, poté se v jednotlivých kapitolách věnuje postavení ženy, zvykům pro uzavření manželství a především počtu partnerů v jednotlivých starověkých společnostech: v Egyptě, na Předním východě, v Řecku a v Římě.
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with monogamy and polygyny in the societies of the ancient Mediterranean. The thesis is divided into five chapters. Initially it describes the significance of marital forms, and in the further chapters it discusses the role of a woman in the society, habits for wedding ceremonies, and most importantly, the number of partners in the individual ancient societies: in Egypt, the …more
