Approaches and Opinions of the Future Graduates from the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University Concerning the Pupils with Special Educational Needs

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá postoji a názory budoucích učitelů vůči problematice žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. V teoretické části je postupováno od pojmů osobnost učitele, jeho kompetence přes systém poradenství v České republice až po vymezení jednotlivých typů postižení a určitá specifika vzdělávání dětí se zdravotním postižením. Nesmí chybět ani samotný pojem integrace a podmínky nezbytné pro její úspěšnost. Protože výzkum samotný je zaměřen na studenty pedagogické fakulty, je nutné věnovat se alespoň okrajově i obsahu vzdělávání budoucích učitelů a to zejména oblasti speciálně pedagogické přípravy. V empirické části je zachycen průběh a výsledky výzkumu mezi studenty Pedagogické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity v Brně. Z možných přístupů, kterými lze názory studentů zachytit, byl zvolen dotazník, který je součástí příloh práce. Ten je zadáván studentům všech oborů a kombinací vyjma budoucích speciálních pedagogů. Díky kvantitativním datům bylo zjištěno, zda se studenti na svých pedagogických praxích setkávají s žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami, jak se sami staví k integraci a co považují za důležité, jsou-li děti se zdravotním postižením integrovány do škol hlavního vzdělávacího proudu. Přiblížena je rovněž otázka pedagogických praxí studentů, zda by oni sami uvítali praxi i v oboru speciální pedagogiky a neméně důležitá je otázka připravenosti studentů navazujícího magisterského studia v této oblasti.

Abstract:

This Diploma Thesis deals with the attitudes and opinions of future teachers concerning pupils with special educational needs. The theoretical part focuses on the determination of concepts ranging from the personality and competence of a teacher, and the system of counseling in the Czech Republic to the particular types of handicaps, and certain specificity of the disabled children education. It also includes the concept of integration and the conditions needed for its successful accomplishment. Due to the fact that the research is focused on the pedagogical faculty students, it is also desirable to, at least partially, pay attention to the education of future teachers and special pedagogical training. The empirical part shows the process and results of the research among the students of the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno. The questionnaire, which is enclosed in the Appendix, was chosen as a method of learning the opinions of students. It was given to the students of all subjects, except for the future special pedagogues. Quantitative data shows if, during their practices, the students meet pupils with special educational needs; what the students' opinions towards the integration are; and what they find important in connection with the process of disabled children integration into the mainstream education in schools. It also focuses on the pedagogical practices of students – whether they find the special pedagogy practice useful or not. Last but not least, it deals with the awareness of master’s degree students concerning this field of study.
